Its taken around 24 hours for the primer to dry. The workshop is cold but reckon I must have picked up oil based primer. To save time, last night I came late into the shop and put a coat of colour on. It would never be done in time if I didn't.
After school the boy came into the shop to help with the next coat. Got paint all over himself again, much to momma's disgrace.

With the paint dry we put it all back together and fit the rear lights and number plates.
This build came together over 8 days. That's working an average of 2-3 hours per day, so relatively a short build time. If I had more time and we didn't have the let down at the beginning this could have been so much more. We do plan to get helicar back and continue work. We are not finishing on a negative note, the boy loves his helicar and enjoyed playing with saw dust in my workshop.
Pop back from time to time to see if we have done any more. For updates on when new contents are added, you could follow us on twitter, our name is: Hudson Carpentry or via our facebook page: Hudson Carpentry Furniture.
Into School - 15th December 2010
We had to take the car after the kids had gone to school, due to room. The kids reaction was good and the lad was quite popular that day. They all had a sit inside and quick play. The teachers were apprehensive at first, something so big in school. They all commented on how well the lad had done, HU HUM. Getting the helicar to the class was a struggle with no turning of the front wheel.
